Egg price rises almost 30% in 2023.

Traditionally every beginning of the year egg prices tend to increase due to high protein consumption. In the first quarter of 2023, the price of an egg marketed in boxes of 30 dozens (360 units) of white eggs increased from R$146.00 in March 2022 to R$175.00 in the same period of 2023 in the region of Bastos-SP. The red egg went from R$166.00 to R$200.00 also in the same period in Bastos-SP.

Industry analysts predict a regulation in the price of the product for the next few days.

According to the Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA), egg consumption per Brazilian is 257 units per year, according to the latest sectoral survey, carried out in 2021. The trend is that this consumption will continue to increase in the coming years.
